The Russian Air Force already has a long time ago with their Kamov's. But in the RC world at least there's just so much more you can do with single rotor CPs.

Haha, actually I do. Looking at my DX8 and knowing what all the switches do kind of turns me on in a weird, but totally not creepy , way; its like an ultimate nerd fantasy come true.
But anyway I wasn't trying to start an argument, sorry the tone of my other post is kind of arrogant, I was just in a hurry and typed that out real quick before I walked out. I think co-axials are great for indoors, orientation practice, and cruising around when the wind is low; I own 3 myself. Personally, I just eventually wanted more. And 3D has really opened up a whole new level of enjoyment for me in this hobby.

I was using real coaxials to move drilling rigs 20 years ago, they are not thinking about it, its old technology, took the Russans to do it though with their Camels

Hi Trev,
While that first video did show a lot of action at no time did it do a 'Constant Heading' 360º circle. It did appear to drift nose in very nicely across the camera from right to left, I assume the wind was blowing that way. Most transitional lift was shown when it turned to go to the right.
I have watched it carefully many times and I can see no real evidence of controlled sideways flight, skids and drifts yes, controlled no. At no time does it move from hover to the left and right. It always turns from forward flight.
It's very clever, no one can deny that. He deserves full marks for the ingenious effort involved. However, I was promised left-right movement by Skyking some time back in Feb on this thread and I am still waiting to see that.
and so if i did not move side to side , Well So what.

And I thought I was a hard man Tom... You are expecting way too much, when all you really need to do is stop flying, build yourself a landing pad and all your problems will go away, it is a sad fact that without a landing pad you just will never learn the true meaning of heli flight.
I am going to go and quitely shoot my helis in the ESC...brb

When you're new it's best to try to learn from the older experienced members. They may not know what you think is best but they've been at it long enough to learn a thing or two. One thing they do learn is not to promise what cannot be done. They help and guide but sometimes play with people who know nothing but think they know more.
