PostPost subject: Bottom Rotor Not Spinning- R/C Helicopter
Reply with quote

Just purchased a Fairly smallish Helicopter, after a few goes it seems that the bottom rotor isnt spinning like the top one.Which means its only spinning round in circles, which wont allow it to move of the ground due to the bottom rotor.
Its a HELICOPTER PRO- 3 CHANNEL. (Top of box says,FXD, FEI XIANG DA, thinks this must be the brand.)

really want to play with my new toy, so any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Usually the two rotors are run via a shaft within an outer sleve shaft ... the bottom rotors being fixed to the outer sleeve.

You need to check the attachment of gears inside frame and mesh to motor .... as well as fixing of rotor holders.

Controlling also the speed of each rotor is the Receiver pot or trim .... the heli will turn left or right based on one set of rotors turning faster than other ... so you may have the trim / pot all one way over making heli spin.

You will usually find that as battery pack runs down that spin one way or other will occur as well ... so make sure battery is fully charged before setting up.

Bigsteve:

Sometimes hair can get wrapped around the motor shaft down by the pinion gear. We have long haired dogs so that's a common problem at my house. Check and be sure that the gear mesh is good and that there are no damaged gear teeth. So a good gear mesh.

Next thing would be a bent shaft. Sometimes the outer shaft will get bent causing more drag on that motor. Thus you get the spin.

Good Luck.
