Hi all,

I'm new to Heli's. Been flying my mSR (with DX6i) that Santa brought me last Christmas 2010.

I admit I have been a bit rough with the little fella. Those walls and objects in the house creep up on you FAST!

My concern is, now that I can actually fly it without a mishap I spend the first couple of minuets retrimming it after every battery change (5 batteries in all)

Sorry, I'n not up on all the heli jargen yet, It always has to be trimmed backwords because it always wants to fly forward.
Sometimes I have to trim the tail because it will turn left in a hover and the next flight I have to trim it because it wants to turn right.
Sometimes it will need left or right trim to stop it from drifting.
All in all, is this retrim an issue with anyone else?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

BTW, my Bday is this month and I will be getting a SR120. Very Happy
Jolly Roger

Changes in trim with each battery are quite common with any twin-motored heli. (Tail motor or co-axial.) Backwards/forwards/sideways is usually a change in CG with the next battery, Turning left/right is the different internal resistance in the batteries.

Only way to stop this is to get a single motored heli and ensure that the CG is correct by marking a datum line on the battery carrier and a matching line on each battery when the heli is balanced. That way each battery will have its own fitting position and maintain CG balance.

Tom.

hi Jolly Roger
i have a couple of the bigger 120 sr heli's and i have to retrim slightly
through out the flight as the battery runs down. it must somehow effect the tail motor as the voltage drops.

Thank you Very much guys!
I thought it was just me or my mSR.

Good to know that will occur when I get the 120.

Great forum by the way.
Thanks again.
