I have a CX2 which was perfect out of the box, but i coulden`t resist blinging it totaly. New better motors, aluminum upgrade parts, swashplate-rotorhead-bladegrips and better blades, but now it is very tricky to fly. Is this normal, or have i done something wrong? Please guys, I hope someone knows how to fix this.
Greetings from Norway. |

I also blinged out my CX2. I have Extreme folding blade grips & blades and can say that they work very well. Saves me a lot of $ on broken blades. I also tried the MicroHele blades but they don't feel as stiff as the Extreme blades (flexed in flight) so I ditched em.
Thing's to check for is---
-End play between aftermarket blade grips & the rotor hub. The grips shouldn't be able to slide back & forth at all on the pivot post. If they do you'll need shim washers.
-Blade balance.
-C/G balance still OK after the mods? |

Thanks for the suggestions. I also have extreme folding blades, but they are a very tight fit in the blade grips. How loose should they be?

Looser is better then being too tight in these small birds. If the blade bolts are too tight the blades may not straiten out when you spool up, leading to crashes on takeoff and broken blades in the event of a crash. Centrifugal force will keep them strait enough when you get the RPM's up for takeoff. |
