Hi Stonzo and welcome,

I can only really endorse Crashagains' comments. Get a sim and while you're practising watch the build videos.

Helifreaks' are great, and you could also try Mikeys builds. (Use the search facility for "450 clone".) He has a slightly different slant from Finless and is angled at the most economic (cheap) build while still giving a good performance for the beginner.

Now I see the problem, Crashagain has hit the button right on the head. Couldn't put it better myself. +1 Crash.

I found the same thing with my pirouettes, height would not stay constant. Takes some practise to hold the throttle rock steady while giving it some rudder. Lots of sim practise helped and saved many crashes. Don't give up! You can do it!

Your right led should stop flashing and go steady when the Rx locks. If the Tx signal is poor, then the Rx cannot lock and the light will keep flashing.

Your left led is showing ESC lock and battery voltage. The lock led shows green when the battery voltage is high enough for flight. It then goes red when the battery voltage drops to around 3.1V under load. You should land as it flickers red and change batteries. As yours is not getting off the ground yet, that part is information only.

Make sure that your batteries are good. One poor one in the Tx will reduce the signal to the point where the Rx cannot lock to it. Your flight battery should also be checked as low voltage may well effect the Rx lock.

Well I got it rebuilt but still have problems. I replaced the Align 430XL motor because of bad bearings in it with a Scorpion 2221-6 motor. Tested it out and the Align 35 Amp ESC came down HOT (140+ deg). Motor and battery were very hot too. I played around with motor timing on the ESC but it still got super hot. Guess the ESC can't keep up with this new motor so I have a Castle Ice 50A on order. That's what I have on my SEv2 and it's fantastic, so I'm sure that will put that issue to bed.
Other problem that still plagued this heli from day 1 was blade tracking. Could never get it perfect, close enough but never 100% right.
Turns out the prebuilt head from the factory had a wrong sized thrust bearing plate on one side.
I replaced it with the proper part, but I'm waiting till I get the new ESC before I go any futher. Don't want to risk smoaking a new motor with a ESC that is getting so hot after short tests.

From what I have read so far this is the best explanation I can find on how the Creata NOR design works...

The Walkera Creata 400 is a NOR design (non-ccpm mixing method, walkera name this technology "NOR", other manufacturer may call it "HPM"), when you add throttle, there is a "Pitch" servo that moves to push up the Main Blade pitch, this servo is located at the bottom of the main frame. The Walkera 60#B is a CCPM design, it means when you add throttle, the transmitter tells the motor to spin faster and tell all 3 cylic servos to move to increase the Main Blade pitch. CCPM design requires good quality servos, becuase you want 3 servos to work seamlessly to get percise blade pitch. CCPM is a common design for now-a-days RC helicopters.

I have not found a review on this design and what the benefits or negatives of this design are. I am also interested in hearing more information on this but have not really found another Heli with this design.

I am starting to lean more towards the Blade 400 as I am finding the most information and reviews on this heli. I have been hard pressed to find a bad review on the B400 and every review I have read are 95% positive. This is one of the best reviews on the Blade 400 I have found so far.

http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/blade-400.html

I hope this helps everyone and if anyone has anything else to pitch in that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Can I assume that you are in France? You have not filled in your location, helps a lot with targeted advice if we know where people are.

I had the AXI 450 SE up today. ABout 6 inches off the ground. Well maybe 3 inches. It's still not trimmed yet but I'm working on it. Tombo242 provided a ton of help. Showing me what to set and what to move where. Big thanks to tombo242.

I got a little nervous so thought I'd take a break and try again after a battery charge. Besides the wind was picking up a little. Not enought o bother a 450 but it bothered me.

It sure seems stable. I guess the weight and head speed?

This is fun. Me thinks bigger is better.
